Dr. Carlo L. Sayo, DPT, OCS

Physical Therapist

Dr. Carlo L. Sayo, DPT, OCS graduated from UCLA with his Bachelors of Science in Psychobiology with a Minor in Geriatrics. In 2006, he went on to graduate from the University of Southern California with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Dr. Sayo has over 10 years of experience in orthopedic physical therapy and other rehab settings. He has since become a board-certified clinical specialist in orthopedic physical therapy (OCS) by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Dr. Sayo specializes in treating patients with various musculoskeletal disorders such as spine-related injuries, shoulder dysfunctions, knee and ankle sprains/strains, TMJ dysfunction and headaches. Dr. Sayo believes in combining a personalized, hands-on, and evidenced-based approach to treating his patients. He enjoys time with his wife and 3 children, has a passion for photography, and does various forms of exercise.

Lisa Patel Sayo, MA OTR/L

Occupational Therapist

Mrs. Lisa P. Sayo, MA OTR/L, graduated from the University of California, Irvine with her Bachelors of Science in both Biology and Psychology. In 2004, she went on to graduate from the University of Southern California with her Master degree in Occupational Therapy. Mrs. Sayo has practiced in multiple settings including inpatient acute, orthopaedic and neurological rehabilitation as well as pediatric clinical and school-based therapy. She is also working towards a certification in Women’s Health and Pelvic Rehabilitation. Mrs. Sayo is a mother of 3 children. She enjoys traveling, exercising, volunteering at her kid’s school and owns an online home tutoring business.

Dr. Alexandra Yew, DPT

Physical Therapist

Dr. “Alex” graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences at University of California, Irvine in 2013. After working as a Student Athletic Trainer at UC Irvine and volunteering at different physical therapy clinics, Dr. Yew went on to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Western University of Health Sciences in 2017. Her clinical interests include working with various orthopedic conditions and sports therapy. In her free time, Dr. Yew enjoys traveling, hiking with her dog, baking, and spending time with her family and friends!

Sarah Escoto

Patient Care Coordinator

Sarah is the friendly voice you will most likely hear on the phone and the first person you will see when you walk in. She will answer all of your questions about what to expect at EMPOWER. Sarah has a Bachelor’s degree from Cal Poly Pomona, is a huge Bronco’s fan, and loves to travel.

Lauren-Ashleigh Piatt

Lead Physical Therapy Aide

Lauren has her Bachelor’s in Kinesiology from Cal State Fullerton. She loves to stay active by kick-boxing, yoga, and playing basketball! She also loves to bake (she loves to bake cookies for our patients!), and spending time with her 3 dogs.

Paige Curtis

Physical Therapy Aide

Paige has her Bachelor’s in Exercise Physiology and her minor in Health and Wellness from Chico State University. She enjoys staying active doing anything outdoors like hiking, running and dancing. She loves to spend time with her two pet tortoises.
