01Common Questions

Everything patients ask before their first visit.

No referral needed. California allows direct access, so you can schedule an evaluation right away without seeing a physician first. If your insurance plan requires a referral for reimbursement purposes, we'll help you sort that out during your first visit.

We work with most major insurance plans and verify your benefits before you ever step in for your first visit, so there are no surprise bills. If you'd rather go the self-pay route, we'll walk you through those options honestly and clearly.

Most patients notice a real difference within their first two or three visits. Exactly how long full recovery takes depends on your specific condition, and we'll give you an honest, written estimate at your evaluation, not a vague guess.

Your first visit is a complete evaluation, not a rushed five-minute glance. We take your history, watch how you actually move, and pinpoint where your pain is really coming from. You'll leave understanding what's driving your symptoms, with a clear plan and often some hands-on treatment already done. Most evaluations take 45 to 60 minutes: no guesswork, no generic handout.

Wear whatever lets you move comfortably and lets your therapist see the area we're treating. Athletic shorts or loose pants work well for back or hip concerns; a tank top or short sleeves helps for shoulder or neck issues. Showing up in regular clothes is fine too. We'll adjust around what you're wearing and never ask you to do anything that feels awkward.

Your first evaluation runs 45 to 60 minutes. Follow-up visits typically run 30 to 45 minutes of one-on-one time with your therapist, not split between other patients or handed off to an aide. That focused time is exactly how we track your progress and adjust the plan visit by visit, instead of repeating the same routine for months.

Most plans begin with two visits a week while we work to calm things down and rebuild the fundamentals. As you improve, we taper down to once a week and eventually to periodic check-ins once you're managing your own program. We'd rather see you the right number of times than the most times, and we'll tell you plainly when you're ready to graduate.

Plenty of patients choose to pay out of pocket, whether because of a high deductible, a desire to avoid visit limits, or simply a preference for privacy. Our self-pay rates are transparent flat fees: no surprise bills, no hidden add-ons. Ask during your first call and we'll lay out the exact numbers before you commit to anything.

Chiropractic care generally centers on spinal adjustments in brief visits. Physical therapy looks at why the problem started in the first place: your strength, your movement patterns, your daily habits, and builds a progressive plan to correct it and keep it from coming back. Many people use both. If a lasting fix matters more to you than a repeat visit every few weeks, PT is built for exactly that.

Yes. Every plan comes with a home program built around exactly where you are in your recovery, never a generic sheet pulled from a drawer. We walk you through each exercise in person, check your form, and adjust it as you progress. The goal is a body that keeps improving between visits, not one that only moves while you're in our clinic.

Yes, and it's actually one of the most common reasons people finally come in. Long-standing pain usually means compensations have been building for a while, so we take a broader look at your entire movement pattern instead of just the one spot that hurts. It often takes a bit longer than a fresh injury would, but real, lasting change is still very much possible.

For many conditions, yes. A structured course of physical therapy resolves a meaningful share of back, knee, and shoulder cases that might otherwise head straight to the operating room. We'll always be upfront if your case genuinely looks surgical. But trying conservative care first is worth it for almost everyone, and it costs you far less time and risk to find out.

Fill out the form on this page, give us a call, or request an appointment online, whichever is easiest for you. We'll confirm your time within business hours, usually the same day. No referral required to get started, and same-week evaluations are almost always available.
