Dr. Jaeho Charlie Choi
Dr. Jaeho Charlie Choi is a Southern California native who earned his B.S. in Kinesiology from Cal State Fullerton before completing his Doctor of Physical Therapy at Azusa Pacific University. Before joining Empower, he built a varied clinical background that included a chronic pain clinic, a sports orthopedic clinic, an inpatient hospital setting, and two years at a vestibular physical therapy clinic in Buena Park. That path gave him specialized training in Grade V spinal manipulations along with real depth in treating dizziness and balance disorders. He brings all of that experience to Empower, tailoring treatment to whatever a patient's body actually needs rather than a single go-to method.
“I often come back to Psalm 139, that we're 'fearfully and wonderfully made.' It's something I carry with me at the clinic and in my role as Worship Director and a youth group teacher at my church in Garden Grove.”
What guides the work.
Dr. Choi's clinical approach is shaped by the range of settings he's worked in, from a chronic pain clinic and a sports orthopedic clinic to an inpatient hospital and two years focused on vestibular therapy. That background, combined with his specialized training in Grade V spinal manipulations, means he brings a precise, well-rounded skill set to every evaluation. He treats each patient with the same care and attention he brings to his faith community, meeting people where they are and working toward real, lasting progress.
Off the clock.
Life beyond the treatment table.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Choi is serious about strength training, spending his time on powerlifting and olympic weightlifting, along with basketball and a good movie. He also serves as Worship Director and a youth group teacher at his church in Garden Grove, work he finds just as meaningful as his clinical practice.
