Dr. Jericho Capul, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist

I was born in the Philppines, and then moved to Southern California when I was only 6 months old. I eventually moved to Chino Hills in 2002, and have enjoyed every moment of it. Being able to work in a city that I have called home for over 22 years has been truly a blessing. The opportunity to serve this community is something that I will never take for granted.

I attended Azusa Pacific University as an Applied Exercise Science Major from 2016-2019, and eventually graduated from APU’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program in 2022. After finishing school, I still felt as though there was a lot more that I wanted to learn. This hunger for knowledge propelled me into Kaiser Permanente’s Orthopedic Clinical Specialist Residency program, which I finished in February 2024. Doing residency was definitely one of the most challenging experiences I have ever gone through, but it was equally as rewarding. It really deepened my understanding of all orthopedic conditions, and sharpened my clinical skills and reasoning.

The core values that are most important to me are faith, gratitude, and resilience. Throughout all the highs and lows of life, faith is truly what allows me to push through adversity and reminds me of what is most important. I always try to take the time to express gratitude, because it is often something that we forget to do whenever life becomes hectic.

“Smooth seas never made a skilled sailor.”

There are many things that I am passionate about when it comes to being a Physical Therapist. I truly enjoy being able to design therapeutic exercise programs that are catered towards each patient’s individual needs and goals. It is such a joy to be able to work alongside someone and guide them back to doing what they love. Whether it is returning to playing a sport, being able to walk independently, or being able to go up and down stairs without the fear of falling, I take pride in being able to assist each patient in accomplishing whatever it is that they need help with.

I have worked with a variety of patient populations, and really enjoy working with orthopedic, neurologic and sport populations, to name a few. I am currently in the process of obtaining my Orthopedic Clinical Specialist Certification, and previously completed an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist Residency last year.

The aspects that I love about working for Empower are the people, culture, and environment. From top to bottom, every team member does a great job with collaboration, communication, and serving each patient to the best of their availability. In addition, work-life balance is also a major part of our work culture, which is something that I feel is undervalued in most companies.

I am truly an advocate for work- life balance, and although I may not be perfect, I always try my best to make time for most of my hobbies and passions outside of work.
