Dr. Jaeho Charlie Choi, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist

I was born and raised in Southern California, where I developed a passion for movement and wellness early on. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from California State University of Fullerton, followed by my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Azusa Pacific University (APU). During my time at APU, I gained clinical experience in a chronic pain clinic, sports orthopedic clinic, and in an inpatient hospital setting.

I am passionate about inspiring and encouraging those around me. My core values center on empowerment, positivity, and uplifting others to help them overcome challenges and reach their full potential. I strive to create a supportive environment where people feel empowered to grow, pursue their goals, and thrive. Through kindness and compassion, I aim to make a meaningful impact on others’ lives.

“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.”

My professional journey began at a vestibular physical therapy clinic in Buena Park, where I honed my skills for the first two years. I then transitioned to Empower Physical Therapy and Wellness, where I continue to grow and expand my expertise in patient care.

As a physical therapist, I’m passionate about helping individuals of all ages. Whether it’s a recreational lifter getting back to the gym or a grandparent wanting to hold their grandchild on Christmas Day, I’m dedicated to helping people achieve their goals and live life to the fullest.

I deeply admire the growth mindset of the leadership and staff at Empower. I can feel the genuine desire among the therapists here to continually refine their skills and learn, and that inspires me to be the best version of myself!

Hobbies:

I am a passionate Christian and I love being part of my church family. I have the privilege of serving as the Worship Director and a youth group teacher at my church in Garden Grove. My other passions include power lifting, olympic weightlifting, basketball, and movies!

Specializition:

I am a physical therapist at Empower Physical Therapy, with a background in vestibular rehabilitation and specialized training in Grade V spinal manipulations.

Patient Testimonials

“Dr Jaeho and Dr Jeremy were amazing. I think they have magic hands (healing touch). I was being treated for right leg pain and post-op left wrist ORIF. Though uncomfortable during the initial visit, there was an improvement after only a few visit (1-2).

The staff are friendly, warm and prompt. They are very professional. I will recommend and refer people to you. You really EMPOWER your clients.

“As part of my rehab from plantar fasciitis, I have been able to have physical therapy at Empower PT and Wellness. After a month of twice a week sessions, Jaeho and his support staff have given me the recovery I was looking for. Thanks a million Jaeho nice work, my man!”

“My fourth appointment and it has been great. Not only physically but also mentally. My PT, JaeHo is awesome and the assistants like Emily is awesome as well. They both have patience with me and a great sense of humor. The ladies, Nicole and Jennifer, at the front desk are also welcoming and provide great customer service. I appreciate everyone.”
